Church Sermon Reflection
In my church, we go through the Bible verse by verse. We are now in the book of Luke and were specifically reading through Luke 8:40-55 this morning. This part of the bible refers to a woman being healed and a girl being restored back to life – all based on faith in Jesus. I will not retell the story in the bible – I encourage you to read it for yourself! But I want to focus on the importance of one’s FAITH! It is what gave me the courage to begin today! My pastor pointed out that when Jesus brought the girl back to life, the first thing that was done for the girl is that she was fed (which is what she desired) – and when Jesus brings US to life in following him, our new desire in life is to be fed more! I can personally say I have experienced this; I am always craving to learn more, hear more, and seek more! This faith in Jesus, in return, gives you a sense of peace that is difficult to describe. God’s word describes it in Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of god, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. Personally, I can only describe it as an amazing feeling of relief, calmness, or relaxation even. It is literally impossible to fully describe.
I don’t have as much time today as I want, but I am thankful God allowed me this time I did have to start what I hope will grow into something bigger, stronger and more powerful for the Lord than I can imagine.
